Budgeting for a brand identity without cutting the wrong corners
How scope, exploration and rollout support affect a realistic identity investment.
A useful brief is not a creative prescription. It gives the design team enough context to make informed decisions while leaving room for expertise.
Start with the change you need
Describe what should be different when the work succeeds. That might be stronger recognition, a clearer sales story, fewer inconsistent assets or a smoother path to conversion.
Separate facts from preferences
Constraints, audiences and required content are facts. Visual references are inputs, not instructions. Explaining why a reference works is more helpful than asking for a copy.
The best brief makes decisions easier without trying to make every decision in advance.
Define how feedback will work
Name the decision-maker, collect feedback in one place and connect comments to the exact version being reviewed. This protects both clarity and momentum.
